About the Trauma Informed Care Project

Trauma Informed Care (TIC) is an organizational structure and treatment framework that involves understanding, recognizing, and responding to the effects of all types of traumas. It emphasizes physical, psychological and emotional safety for both consumers and providers, and helps survivors rebuild a sense of control and empowerment.

The Trauma Informed Care Project (TIC) began with funding from the Mental Health Block Grant (MHBG) from October 1, 2010, until September 30, 2016. The TIC Project was fully transitioned from the MHBG funding and funded by Orchard Place. This journey of implementing a trauma informed and trauma responsive organizational cultural change continues today.
